Route Technician

A full-time role managing residential and commercial pet waste removal routes across the valley. You drive the truck, clear the yards and secure the gates.

  • Full time, W-2 role
  • Company vehicle provided
  • Monday to Saturday schedule

Position details

About the role

The route technician is the core of our business. You are the face of Quail Scoop for our customers, responsible for keeping their yards clean and their dogs safe. This is a highly independent, outdoor role. Once you leave the office in the morning in your marked route vehicle, you manage your own time and route list to get the job done efficiently.

What you will do

Your primary responsibility is visiting residential backyards and commercial properties to remove dog waste. You will walk yards in a tight grid pattern to find waste on grass, artificial turf and decorative rock. You will also manage commercial pet waste stations by restocking bags and emptying the lidded bins.

Communication is a major part of the job. You will use your smartphone to send automated ‘on the way’ texts to clients, and you must send a completion photo of every latched gate before you leave a property. Between every yard, you are required to spray your boots and tools with kennel-grade disinfectant.

What we look for

We need reliable people who are comfortable working independently in the Las Vegas climate. You must be comfortable entering yards where friendly dogs are present, but smart enough to know when to stay out if a dog is aggressively protective. You must have a strong attention to detail, leaving waste behind or forgetting to latch a gate is not acceptable.

Schedule

Routes run Monday through Saturday. Standard shifts begin at 7 AM. However, from June to September, you must be prepared to start your route at 6 AM to safely avoid the peak afternoon heat.

Pay and benefits

This is a W-2 employment position, not an independent contractor role. Hourly pay will be discussed directly at the interview. You will complete your initial two weeks as a ride-along with a senior technician. We provide the marked company vehicle, the uniform, and all the tools and disinfectant you need to do the job safely.

  • Valid driver licence

You must have a valid driver licence and a clean driving record.

  • Background check

  • Reliable

You must consistently arrive on time and complete your assigned daily route.

  • A smartphone

You need a smartphone to access your route list and take gate photos.
