Pausing service for travel or a hot spell

Our routes are flexible. If you are traveling or keeping the dogs indoors, you can pause your service without having to cancel your account.

When you sign up for a recurring route with Quail Scoop, you are reserving a specific spot on a technician’s schedule. Because we build dense, efficient routes based on ZIP codes across the Las Vegas valley, those route spots are valuable. However, we also know that life happens, and you do not always need us in the backyard.

Whether you are leaving town for a long vacation, or the brutal summer heat means your dogs are using indoor pads instead of the artificial turf, we make it easy to pause your service temporarily.

The eight-week pause policy

Our residential service is completely month to month with no long-term contracts. If you need to stop service for a while, you do not have to cancel your account entirely. We allow customers to pause their recurring route for up to eight consecutive weeks.

When you request a pause, we simply hold your spot on the route schedule. You do not lose your assigned day, and you do not have to go through the quoting process again when you return.

How to request a pause

Just like a single skipped visit, we need advance notice to adjust the technician’s driving route. To pause your service, you must notify our office by text or email before 5 PM the day prior to your next scheduled route day.

Let us know how many weeks you need to pause the service, or give us the specific date you want the routes to resume. We will confirm the pause and check our technicians know not to access your property while you are away.

How a pause affects your billing

We bill monthly, charging your card on file on the first of the month for the upcoming service cycle. If you pause your service mid-month, the visits you already paid for but did not use will be credited to your account.

When your pause ends and your service resumes, those credits will automatically apply to your next monthly invoice. You are never charged for visits during an active, properly requested pause.

What happens when you return

When your route resumes after a pause, the technician will likely face more accumulation than usual, especially if your dogs were still using the yard during that time. If the accumulation is severe after an eight-week pause, we may need to quote that first returning visit as an initial cleanup to account for the extra labor.

If you need to stop service for more than eight weeks, we will ask you to cancel the account. There is no cancellation fee, and you can easily request a new quote when you are ready to start up again.
